TeacherMade.com is owned by Work On Learning, Inc. (“TeacherMade” “Company” or “We“) a Delaware Corporation. TeacherMade is a transparent organization that helps teachers turn their paper classroom materials into interactive, digital, and online activities for their students. To achieve this goal, we must collect certain information from our users, subject to this Website Privacy Policy, our Children’s Website Privacy Policy, and our Website Terms of Use. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.

This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the website teachermade.com (our “Website” or “Service”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This policy applies to information we collect:

Children Under the Age of 13

Our Website is not intended for children under 13 years of age and TeacherMade does not knowingly permit children to use our Website without prior, express consent from a parent or legal guardian, except through agreements with schools or districts or as otherwise permitted under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verification of parental consent. If we learn that personal information of a child user has been collected on our Website without prior parental consent, then we will take appropriate steps to delete this information. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact your child’s school and contact us at support@teachermade.com and request that we delete that child’s personal information from our systems.

Children cannot obtain a user account without first receiving a prompt from their school. TeacherMade obligates schools and teachers (or other authorized individuals) to first obtain any necessary parental consents before permitting children to register for a user account or use the Website.

If you are a Teacher or Administrator, you must obtain all necessary parental consent before allowing a student to create an account or use the Website.

We recognize the need to provide further privacy protections with respect to personal information we may collect from children on our Website. Some of the features on our Website are age-gated so that they are not available for use by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in connection with those features. When we intend to collect personal information from children, we take additional steps to protect children’s privacy, including:

  • Notifying parents about our information practices with regard to children, including the types of personal information we may collect from children, the uses to which we may put that information, and whether and with whom we may share that information;

    • Students or teachers may create student accounts which contain their names, passwords, grade level, and may contain emails. Teachers cannot view students’ account pages; however, teachers are able to view the name, email, and grade level of each of their students. Teachers may be able to view the name and email address of other teachers at their same school, but cannot view another teacher’s account page.

You also may provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, “posted“) on public areas of the Website, or transmitted to other users of the Website or third parties (collectively, “User Contributions“). Your User Contributions are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. Although we limit access to certain pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the Website with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.

No Third Party Advertising with Student Data

TeacherMade will never knowingly use any Student Data to advertise or market to students. We will not mine Student Data for any purposes other than those agreed to by the parties. Data mining or scanning of user content for the purpose of advertising or marketing to students or their parents is prohibited.

How We Use Your Information

You understand and agree that, because communicating with you through email is essential to You accessing and maintaining your account, when you provide your email to TeacherMade, you automatically opt-in to receiving emails and information from TeacherMade, including, without limitation, information concerning your account, the TeacherMade Website, or products or services offered by TeacherMade. You further acknowledge and understand that you may opt-out of receiving emails from TeacherMade visiting Your Privacy Options, available at https://teachermade.com/your-privacy-options-imported. You can opt-out of receiving further communications by clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of an email. You may not opt-out of in-app notifications under any circumstances.

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You can review and change your personal information by logging into the Website and visiting your account profile page.

You may also send us an email at support@teachermade.com to request access to, correct or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We cannot delete your personal information except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

If you delete your User Contributions from the Website, copies of your User Contributions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages, or might have been copied or stored by other Website users. Your State Privacy Rights

Data Security

TeacherMade takes data security very seriously. TeacherMade takes commercially reasonable technical, physical, and administrative security measures designed to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it.  Such measures vary depending on the sensitivity of the information at issue.  We have implemented the following measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure:

  • All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers behind firewalls.
  • We periodically test TeacherMade’s security practices for vulnerabilities
  • We periodically review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems
  • We continually develop and implement features to keep your personal information safe – for example, all traffic to and from our application is over secure, encrypted protocols (SSL/TLS).
  • Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology.
  • We ensure passwords are stored securely using encryption and salted one-way hashing
  • Developers peer-review code to make sure changes adhere to best practices for security.
  • Administrators are knowledgeable of security practices and harden the infrastructure with necessary patches, monitor security resources for advisories and vulnerabilities, and scan the environment and application to ensure that student information remains secure.


The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. We urge you to be careful about giving out information in public areas of the Website like message boards. The information you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of the Website.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Website. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Website.

How will TeacherMade handle a data breach or security incident? In the event that TeacherMade becomes aware of a data breach impacting your Personal Information, we will provide notification in compliance with all applicable laws. For example, we may post a notice on our homepage (www.TeacherMade.com) or elsewhere on the Service, and may send email to you at the email address you have provided to us. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach in writing.

TeacherMade has procedures in place that are designed to stop threats that may expose personally identifiable information, restore Services to full functionality, and document and take proactive steps to ensure the incident cannot be repeated. TeacherMade will also preserve necessary evidence for investigation by security professionals and law enforcement as appropriate. In the unlikely event of an unauthorized disclosure of records, TeacherMade will follow a notification process. The notification process includes any information that can identify which customers and students may have been impacted, the data that may have been accessed, TeacherMade’s process to inform affected customers, and steps to prevent the incident from happening again as appropriate.

In the unlikely event of an unauthorized disclosure of data, TeacherMade will implement a process for responding to incidents and notifying affected individuals via email or in-app notification and, if applicable, law enforcement personnel.

How Do I Close My Account?

If you wish to close your account with one of our Services, please send your request via email at support@teachermade.com and we will remove your Personal Information and Profile, if applicable, from the active databases for the Service(s) you request. Please let us know which Service(s) you wish to close and, if applicable, send your request using an email account that you have registered with TeacherMade under your name. You typically will receive a response to a request sent to this account within ten business days of our receiving it. Requests to change your email preferences or unsubscribe from all emails cannot be made through this email address, but rather must be submitted through one of the channels set out in the previous section.

How Long Does TeacherMade Keep My Information?

Upon termination of your Account, TeacherMade will take commercially reasonable steps to delete any Sensitive Information from its live databases in a reasonable amount of time not to exceed ninety (90) days.  You understand and agree that TeacherMade may continue to have Sensitive Information in archive files or similar databases.  You further agree that TeacherMade has no obligation to delete aggregated or de-identified information.  TeacherMade may retain and use aggregated and de-identified information for any purpose that is consistent with laws and regulations.

Even if your account is closed, information may remain in backup or archive records and we may retain certain data relevant to preventing fraud or future abuse or for legitimate business purposes, such as analysis of aggregated, non-personally-identifiable or de-identified data, account recovery or if required by law. All retained data will continue to be subject to the applicable privacy policy for the Service. Also, if you have posted content on or through the Services, such as in Ratings and Reviews or third party sites, we may not be able to delete it.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

It is our policy to post any changes we make to our privacy policy on this page. Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf, may make a request to know or delete related to your personal information. You may also make a request to know or delete on behalf of your child by emailing us at support@teachermade.com. You may only submit a request to know twice within a 12-month period. Your request to know or delete must:
  • Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative, which may include:
    • Verifying your identity by submitting a photograph of a government issued id.
  • Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.
We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. You do not need to create an account with us to submit a request to know or delete. We will only use personal information provided in the request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make it. D. Response Timing and Format

We will confirm receipt of your request within ten (10) business days. If you do not receive confirmation within the 10-day time-frame, please contact us at support@teachermade.com. We endeavor to substantively respond to a verifiable consumer request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time (up to another 45 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. If you have an account with us, we will deliver our written response to that account. If you do not have an account with us, we will deliver our written response by mail or electronically, at your option. Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding our receipt of your request. The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable. For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance. We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request.

E. Personal Information Sales Opt-Out and Opt-In Rights

If you are age 16 or older, you have the right to direct us to not sell your personal information at any time (the “right to opt-out”). We do not sell the personal information of consumers we actually know are less than 16 years old, unless we receive affirmative authorization (the “right to opt-in”) from either the consumer who is between 13 and 15 years old, or the parent or guardian of a consumer less than 13 years old.   • Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
  • Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services.
  • Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.
However, we may offer you certain financial incentives permitted by the CCPA that can result in different prices, rates, or quality levels. Any CCPA-permitted financial incentive we offer will reasonably relate to your personal information’s value and contain written terms that describe the program’s material aspects.
