Introduction

TeacherMade.com is owned by Work On Learning, Inc. (“TeacherMade” “Company” or “We“) a Delaware Corporation. TeacherMade is a transparent organization that helps teachers turn their paper classroom materials into interactive, digital, and online activities for their students. To achieve this goal, we must collect certain information from our users, subject to this Website Privacy Policy, our Children’s Website Privacy Policy, and our Website Terms of Use. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.

This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the website teachermade.com (our “Website” or “Service”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This policy applies to information we collect:

  • On this Website.
  • In email, text, and other electronic messages between you and this Website.
  • Through mobile and desktop applications you download from this Website, which provide dedicated non-browser-based interaction between you and this Website.
  • When you interact with our advertising and applications on third-party websites and services, if those applications or advertising include links to this policy.

It does not apply to information collected by:

  • Us offline or through any other means, including on any other website operated by Company or any third party (including our affiliates and subsidiaries); or
  • Any third party (including our affiliates and subsidiaries), including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or through the Website.

Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to use our Website. By accessing or using this Website, you agree to this privacy policy. This policy may change from time to time (see Changes to Our Privacy Policy). Your continued use of this Website after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

Children Under the Age of 13

TeacherMade obligates schools and teachers (or other authorized individuals) to first obtain any necessary parental consents before permitting children under the age of 13 to use the Website. TeacherMade does not knowingly permit children under the age of 13, as per COPPA and FERPA, to use our Website without prior, express consent from a parent or legal guardian, except through agreements with schools or districts or as otherwise permitted under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verification of parental consent. If we learn that personal information of a child user has been collected on our Website without prior parental consent, then we will take appropriate steps to delete this information. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact your child’s school and contact us at support@teachermade.com and request that we delete that child’s personal information from our systems.

TeacherMade expressly recognizes and accepts the general consent obtained by schools from parents or legal guardians for the use of technology services, including ours, as part of the educational process. This consent, as provided by the educational institutions, is deemed by TeacherMade to be compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

If such consent has not been obtained by the educational institution, the teacher or administrator must obtain parental consent before allowing a student to use the Website. Be aware that children do not have user accounts on TeacherMade. They share limited personal directory information when a teacher assigns students a TeacherMade activity via a link and the child clicks on that link.  Most of the features on our Website are age-gated so that they are not available for use by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in connection with those features. When we intend to collect personal information from children, we take additional steps to protect children’s privacy, including:

  • Limiting our collection of personal information from children to no more than is reasonably necessary to participate in an online activity; and
  • Giving parents access or the ability to request access to personal information we have collected from their children and the ability to request that the personal information be changed or deleted.

For additional information about our practices in the United States regarding children’s personal information, please read our Children’s Website Privacy Policy, available at https://teachermade.com/legal/childrens-website-privacy-policy.

California residents under 16 years of age may have additional rights regarding the collection and sale of their personal information. Please see Your State Privacy Rights for more information.
